Exchange Happenings – Ribfest 2018

-

Ribfest 2018 will take place from Independence Day, July 4, through July 7 in Knoch Park. Come and enjoy wonderfully cooked ribs and outstanding entertainment which includes Stray Cats, Melissa Etheridge, Pitbull, Jake Owen, Steven Tyler and the Loving Mary Band.

Fireworks will take place this year beginning at 9:30PM on Wed., July 4th.

Back again this year are Front of Stage reserved tickets. The Front of House reserved tickets include patron access to all Ribfest activities for one day and entrance to the Front of Stage Reserved area closest to the bands playing on the Main Stage.

The South Stage also will provide wonderful musical entertainment. Just to name a few… 7th Heaven, The Chicago Experience, Lime Forest, Libido Funk Circus, Billy Croft and the 5 Alarm, The Messengers, True Company and Lil Red and the Howlin Wolves will be performing.

And as in the past, the Family Area is filled with fun activities for the children. There will be a petting zoo, inflatables, a magic show, face painting and Nathan’s hot dogs. The Family Area is sponsored by Naperville Bank and Trust.

Ribfest is the Exchange Club’s major fundraiser that gives money back to the community for the prevention of child abuse and domestic violence.

The Exchange Club meets at 11:45AM on the first Friday each month at Hugo’s Frog Pond and at 6:15PM on the third Thursday at Traverso’s.

We welcome your interest in our club as we’re always seeking new members who embrace our mission.

One more thing: Sandy Southworth, Chair of the Lincolnland District Youth of the Year, recently announced that Alexa Jordan is the Lincolnland District Youth of the Year finalist. Judy McCormack, Youth Chair of the Exchange Club of Naperville Club, was the contact for the submission that recognized this outstanding teen for her many achievements and awards in school, church and the community.

Jordan will be attending the Lincolnland District Convention to accept her award this summer. A 2018 graduate of Metea Valley High School, Jordan plans to attend Harvard University.
