‘A Chair Affair’ has returned to retail shops in downtown Naperville for the fifth year

Above / “A Chair Affair,” now on exhibit throughout downtown Naperville, welcomes visitors to summer to help raise awareness and funds for the Bridge Communities auction on June 7, 2018.

Glen Ellyn, IL—May 21, 2018— Bridge Communities is bringing back a favorite “chairity” event to downtown Naperville.  A Chair Affair, the annual cocktail auction and gala, will be held on June 7 at Elements at Water Street, the banquet event space inside the Naperville Riverwalk’s Hotel Indigo.

Meanwhile, the whimsical, one-of-a-kind chairs redesigned by local artisans are now on display throughout retail businesses in downtown Naperville until June 7. As an exciting addition this year, the artwork selection also includes special, decorative pieces for lawn and garden. Online voting for the chairs is now available.

Then, the main event will take place from 6-9 PM on Thurs., June 7, at Elements at Water Street—where you’ll have the opportunity to bid on your favorite chair at our live and silent auctions.

Tickets for the June 7 event are $60 and include an hors d’oeuvres and dessert buffet, plus an open bar. Proceeds of A Chair Affair go directly to support the homeless families served by Bridge Communities in the Naperville area.

“It is a great privilege to bring A Chair Affair back to the Naperville community, which has not only embraced the fun and philanthropy involved with this special event, but has also gone above and beyond to help Bridge families recovering from homelessness,” noted Chad Pedigo, Bridge Communities’ Director of Community Engagement, in a written statement. “Our gratitude extends to so many members of this caring community for supporting A Chair Affair and providing Bridge families the tools they need to build a better future.”

Bridge Communities also highlights a special thank-you to Title Sponsor Elements at Water Street, for their second year of graciously providing space for this event, and to Title Sponsors Marquette Properties and Mark Brown & Associates for their continued support through multiyear sponsorship of A Chair Affair.

“It is because of them that we are able to do this,” added Pedigo, also grateful to other community sponsors for making this event possible: Title Sponsors Chef By Request, Water Street District, and Naperville Bank & Trust; and Auction Sponsors Coldwell Banker Charitable Foundation, Bluco Cares Foundation and Sounds Abound Entertainment.

Vote and/or purchase tickets online
