Original Post, April 12, 2018 / The executive chefs from two popular Naperville restaurants — Chef Eddie Sweeney from Catch 35 and Chef Danny Gil from Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House — competed to create original dishes in a stadium kitchen atmosphere featuring a secret ingredient, barramundi.

The chefs were assisted by sous chefs Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico, Julie Chirico, Nicki Anderson and Joe Vozar to create original dishes judged by Christine Jeffries, President of Naperville Development Partnership; Jim Ebel, co-founder of Two Brother’s Brewing Company; Mark Walter, Owner & Executive Chef at My Chef; and Naperville eighth grader Henry Weiser, a Top Chef Jr. finalist.

Chef Eddie Sweeney from Catch 35 assisted by sous chefs Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico and Nicki Anderson won the friendly competition barely edging out Chef Danny Gil from Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House.

Two hundred and forty guests attended the Showdown, a new event to benefit Loaves and Fishes Community Services, held at Loaves and Fishes, located at 1871 High Grove Lane.
