To kick off the 2018 winter theater season, Naperville North High School is set to stage two productions. SubText will be performed in late January, followed the The Heir Apparent in February.
subText / Freshman-Sophomore Play
Even though everybody on the planet is just a text away, getting your message across has never been more complicated. subText is a hilarious series of vignettes detailing the awkwardness of dating in the digital age, from capturing the perfect selfie to making a relationship Facebook official. At its heart, subText is a reminder that “love is a lot of things, but it is rarely a thing of convenience.”
Showtimes are 7PM on January 26 and 27. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
Reserved seats can be purchased at www.nnhsarts.com.
The Heir Apparent / Spring Play
This French farce takes us to 1708 Paris where Eraste, a worthy though penniless young man, is waiting for his wealthy old miserly uncle to die so he can inherit his fortune and marry his beloved Isabelle. But his uncle, Geronte, has other plans for Isabelle and his money. With the help of two wily servants, Eraste attempts to disinherit newly found relatives and forge a new will to their benefit. The multiple plot lines unravel to great comedic effect all while being performed in rhyming couplets.
Showtimes are 7PM February 22, 23 and 24. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
Reserved seats can be purchased at www.nnhsarts.com.
