Naperville Gardener – How does your garden club grow?

-

Here’s how the Naperville Garden Club gives to our community!

At each meeting, we bring donations for our community pantry, Loaves and Fishes.

Our mission statement includes, “protecting the environment.” In partnership with the Conservation Foundation, a pollinator garden was dedicated in April next to the Naperville Municipal Center. We support the DuPage Monarch Project. As a result, the City of Naperville passed a resolution to improve available habitat for monarch butterflies and other native pollinators. With the help of the Naperville Park District, signage will be installed near the plantings to increase public awareness. We hope these gardens will show you how to add native and pollinator-friendly plants to your own gardens.

It’s almost time for the Cup of Cheer™ House Walk, Holiday Market and Tea on Thursday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 1. In addition to community projects, proceeds help us give scholarships and to invite professionals for programs at our meetings.

We meet on Nov. 15, earlier because of Thanksgiving. You are invited to attend, with paid reservation, and this meeting will surely get you in the holiday spirit!

We will learn how to make floral designs for the holidays, brightening up the gray days of winter. Information about both events is in Positively Naperville’s “Event” section and on our website napervillegardenclub.org. We look forward to seeing you!

The Cup of Cheer™ House Walk, Holiday Market and Tea is a big event and we need some help- hostesses at the homes on the House Walk, help bagging purchases and such at the Holiday Market and assistance at the Tea, distributing our tea cups, preparing cookie trays, etc. If you have ever wanted to join our club, but don’t have time, this is a way you can participate. Contact Gale at (630) 212-9560 to find out more about being a part of our 57th Cup of Cheer™.
