Naperville Police seek info regarding attempted robbery on Naperville’s north side

NAPERVILLE CRIME STOPPERS are offering up to a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of person(s) responsible for the attempted robbery of a United States Postal Service mail carrier. (See original post below.)

The main offender is described as a tall thin black male in his 40s, black/gray hair, missing four front top teeth, wearing black knit cap, hoodie, black jacket, weathered jeans with bleach/acid-wash spots, red colored high top shoes, and a light blue colored surgical mask around his neck he used in an attempt to cover his face.

Please NOTE the main offender dropped a purple bandana at the scene prior to the incident.

If anyone witnessed this incident or has any information about it or the suspect involved, they are asked to call CRIME STOPPERS AT 630-420-6006.  

Your information is important to Crime Stoppers and all callers may remain anonymous.  A reward of up to $1,000.00 is being offered for the information that leads to an arrest in this incident.

Original Post, Oct. 4, 2017, NAPERVILLE, Ill. — On Oct. 4, 2017,  at approximately 11:15AM, Naperville Officers responded to the 1000 block of N. Main St. (north of Ogden Ave.) for the report of a battery in progress.

Naperville PoliceUpon arrival it was determined a male offender punched a female United States Postal Service mail carrier in the face, knocked her to the street, rifled her pockets in an apparent attempt at robbery, but ultimately left without taking anything.  The offender fled the area in a newer model black, Nissan sedan with a hatchback, partial plate with the first character of “Q,” driven by a heavy-set female black with shoulder length hair beneath a stocking cap.

The main offender is described as a tall thin black male in his 40s, black/gray hair, missing 4 front top teeth, wearing black knit cap, hoodie, black jacket, weathered jeans with bleach/acid-wash spots, red colored high top shoes, and a light blue colored surgical mask around his neck he used in an attempt to cover his face.

If anyone has any information regarding this crime they can contact the Naperville Police Department at (630) 305-5920 and asked for Detective Reed.
