The Edward Foundation raised $941,000 at its 27th annual gala, The Big Gig: Fusion, on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at the Westin Lombard. Terrell Brown, ABC 7 Eyewitness morning news anchor, served as master of ceremonies.
Nearly 740 people attended the event, which is the Foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year and supports Edward Hospital programs and services that directly impact patients.
A portion of the funds raised this year will help fund construction of the Cardiac Innovations & Structural Heart Center at Edward Hospital.
“We won the tickets for a suite at a White Sox game in 2018,” said Christine Jeffries when inquiring minds wanted to know. “The competition for White Sox is not very robust :-}, so it is much less expensive than being a Cubs fan!”
Jeffries continued, “Since my dad is a big White Sox fan, we decided to have his 91st birthday party at Sox park, and he’s thrilled.”
