Among the many positives that come from publishing this monthly publication is learning something new every day. For instance, did you know that since 1995, September 19 has been designated as International Talk Like a Pirate Day, a parodic holiday when people throughout the world, even parrots, are urged to talk like a pirate?
Fun-loving Mike Cooper and his mate Pam Cooper, owners of Naperville Senior Center, can be credited for heightening awareness about the far-reaching impact of Talk Like a Pirate Day. A photo featuring their members topped in pirate attire highlighted the special occasion last month.
Games, music, holidays and birthdays create a calendar of memorable activities at Naperville’s adult day care center.
Naperville Senior Center is a local resource aimed to help its members remain in their homes or with loved ones and to stay independent for as long as possible. The center offers senior activities, exercises, personal care, socialization, delicious meals and more while providing respite care for caregivers for up to five days a week, Monday through Friday.
