I am pleased to report that at the National Exchange Club Convention in Jacksonville, Florida, Scot Warren, a member of the Exchange Club of Naperville, was elected as National President Elect.
This is a huge honor for Scot and our club. Scot is the first member of our club to be elected to this office. Scot’s father, Harold, is a past National President. It was Harold with two other gentlemen that met with leaders in Naperville to start the Exchange Club of Naperville in 1987. Scot will be installed as National President at next year’s convention in Reno, Nevada.
In June, Robin Choquette, President of the Exchange Club of Naperville, received the All-American Award at the Lincolnland District Convention. This award is given to a member who goes above and beyond in his or her community. Robin also was recognized for this achievement at the National Convention.
Also at the Lincolnland Convention, Dawn Portner was recognized with the Exchange Cup Outstanding Achievement Award and Sherry Weinstein received the Special Recognition Award for the Keep Kids Safe program.
I was elected to fill the term as president. I first served the district as President from 2013-2014. I will now serve as President for the 2017-2018 term. It is my honor to work with this fine group of individuals who work tirelessly for the prevention of child abuse and domestic violence.
Please remember you are always welcome to join us for a luncheon meeting on the first and third Fridays at noon at Hugo’s Frog Pond. We welcome your interest in our club as we’re always seeking new members who embrace our mission.
