Our Ride Assist Naperville or RAN program is off and running – pun intended. Did you see us in a jeep in the Memorial Day Parade? We do offer free rides for our senior veterans to Hines Hospital.
One rider called when she returned home to tell us she fell in love with her driver and wanted to be sure she got him again. Another rider called after her ride to tell us the driver treated her better than her own daughter.
Just remember, if you are going to use RAN, you must first fill out the application, which you can find at: www.rideassistNaperville.org. Look for the tab called “Rider.” There you can find all the information to apply. Also, if you wish to be a volunteer driver, click on the tab “Driver.”
Smart911. I received a notice that my information for Smart911 had expired. I guess the information is only good for 6 months. So be sure you do keep current info as it is so important in time of emergency. www.smart911.com .
Fifth Avenue. I’m sure you have noticed the news about the development of Fifth Ave. The high schools have participated in an exhibit of their ideas. It would be great if our adults and seniors would also send us your ideas. This “once in a lifetime” opportunity is a chance for us to leave a legacy for the town we love. Kindly send your suggestions to: seniortaskforce@naperville.il.us.
Giggle Time: To help save the economy, the Government will announce next month that the Immigration Department will start deporting seniors (instead of illegals) in order to lower Social Security and Medicare costs. Older people are easier to catch and will not remember how to get back home.
