Naperville Chamber is recognized with ‘Award of Excellence’ for rebranding

UPDATE, June 27, 2017 / The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce (NACC) has been named a winner of an industry award that recognizes communications and marketing work. Presented annually by Alexandria, Va.-based Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, the Communications Excellence awards program is designed to celebrate exceptional work in the areas of advertising and marketing, campaigns, digital and publications.

The NACC received an Award of Excellence for its rebranding campaign.

“Our commitment to excellence isn’t just about our programming and advocacy, it is our staff that sets the stage. Our Marketing Director, Lauren Holtz has worked tirelessly on our rebranding effort, and this award simply recognizes her work at getting out our message, and we’re incredibly proud of her and the award,” said Nicki Anderson, NACC President and CEO.

A panel of peers — communications and marketing executives from chambers of commerce around North America — evaluated submissions and selected top entries to receive recognition.

Award-winning entries represent the work of 41 organizations in 23 U.S. states and the Cayman Islands. Of the 49 award-winning entries in 2017, 12 are recognized as Grand Award winners and 37 are recognized as Award of Excellence winners. Three Best in Show awards will be announced at a special event Tuesday, July 18 in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Communicating effectively is vital for chambers of commerce and grabbing attention is becoming increasingly challenging. This year’s award-winning entries represent work that’s not only effective, but incredibly creative and innovative,” said Ben Wills, director of communications and marketing for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. “Communications professionals at chambers of commerce work tirelessly to promote their members, businesses in the community they serve, and the unique characteristics that make their state or region a top place to live, work and play.”

This year’s competition attracted entries from chambers of commerce in the United States and the Cayman Islands.

The Chamber is located at 55 S. Main Street, on the third level of Main Street Promenade.

Chamber hosts first general membership luncheon of 2017 focused on branding

The timely topic will be “branding.”

Consider Apple.  Coca-Cola.  Google.  Amazon.  What do these companies all have in common?  These companies are some of the biggest, most recognized brands in the world.

And just what is a brand exactly?  “Hint… it’s much more than just a logo,” according to the Chamber invitation.

How will the new branding use the distinctive “N” to identify the 5-star group of area businesses?

During the January General Membership Luncheon, Chamber President and CEO Nicki Anderson will address the membership and guests on what branding means and why it matters to every business.

Additionally, Anderson will discuss the recent “rebranding” of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, its “big reveal,” and what it means for future direction of the five-star organization.

“When I came in to this position three years ago, I had five goals,” said Anderson on Monday. “One was to make the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce more relevant. Almost 20 years have passed without a new look.  We are closer to that goal of relevancy as we are pleased to reveal our new brand at our largest fundraiser of the year on Fri., Jan. 2o.”

Anderson continued,  “The NACC is committed to being the best resource possible for our business community. Rebranding and recommitting ourselves to our Members and a strong business climate is something that my staff and I are very proud of.”

She lists her four other goals as “improving diversity within the Chamber, improving quality of programming, growing our Young Professional Leadership group and enhancing professional development offerings.”
