Above / Be prepared for bridge and road work between mid-July and the end of October when DuPage County repairs Winfield Road Bridge.
Wheaton – The DuPage County Division of Transportation will repair and resurface the bridge that carries Winfield Road over Springbrook Creek beginning mid-July.
In addition to resurfacing the deck, crews will also reconstruct the bridge approaches and complete other ancillary work. To complete the work in the most-efficient manner, Winfield Road will be reduced to a single lane in each direction just south of Mack Road to allow half of the bridge to be improved at a time.
Due to the proximity of Mack Road, left turns from Winfield Road onto Mack Road will be prohibited. Left turns from northbound Winfield Road to Purnell Road also will be prohibited. Local detours will be posted to accommodate temporary left turn restrictions.
Work is expected to be completed by the end of October.
