Journey with Autism – Young and open minds

-

For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by children. Tiny babies are very pure and howling cries say only palpable loneliness, pain or hunger.

Older people more than I can often understand, look like clouds fill the space around them and doing life is a heavy burden. I’m likely to join my neurotypically wired peers and move myself forward under the looming clouds of negativity, not the light of optimism.

I watch the wonder in all small children and how they move more bonded into the moment interested in who and what is near them. They do not wear masks or have the great lack of genuineness adults too often use to go through daily life.

Where did many of us lose our vision for the looking deeply into fantastic minutes and how much joy there is to be found if we lift ourselves out of the darkness and focus on the simplest fleeting pleasures? If we spent even a few moments childlike and technology free, looking, listening and soaring on sights and sounds, could we possibly regain our innocence just long enough for us to look at life and love it again?
