Year-round, the Naperville Citizens Appreciate Public Safety (CAPS) board accepts nominations from the community recognizing Naperville Police Department and Naperville Fire Department personnel for outstanding service. Nominations can be submitted any time by visiting www.napervillecaps.com or emailing CAPSNaperville@gmail.com.

CAPS is a tax exempt, non-profit community group that recognizes public safety personnel for their contributions to the City of Naperville. Residents are asked to nominate public safety employees who have displayed an interest in Naperville’s residents in a manner above and beyond the call of duty and exhibited a genuine concern for the welfare and well-being of all citizens.

CAPS Awards go to Police Department in spring, Fire Department in fall

The CAPS board selects individuals from nominations submitted to receive awards during two events hosted annually, one in the spring for the Police Department and one in the fall for the Fire Department.

CAPS Dinner begins at 6:30PM May 18

The 2017 nominations for the Naperville Police Department were accepted until mid-April. Award recipients will be honored as part of the CAPS awards dinner at 6:30PM on Thursday, May 18, in the Pavilion at Meson Sabika, 1025 Aurora Ave.

The Pavilion at Meson Sabika is located at 1025 Aurora Avenue.

Recognition for police department personnel includes the George Pradel Award, a coveted award bestowed to a law enforcement officer whose performance epitomizes the heart and spirit of a public servant by going above and beyond in the delivery of service to the community.
