Rotary Club of Naperville announces 2017 Paul Harris Fellow Awards

Above / During its Thursday lunch meeting in the Pavilion at Meson Sabika, the Rotary Club of Naperville will present its 2017 Paul Harris Fellow Awards.

At 12PM on Thursday, May 11, 2017, the Rotary Club of Naperville will honor 10 community members with Paul Harris Fellow Awards for Service. The ceremony will recognize this year’s recipients: Vicki Coletta, Kent Duncan, Karen Garlough, Mike Havala, Dr. Jeff Grimley, Al Carrius, Jen Fitzsimmons, Beverly Patterson Frier, Elizabeth Spencer and Tim Wierenga.

The program has been organized by Curt Stowers, Foundation Director.

Named to honor the individual who founded Rotary in 1905, The Paul Harris Fellow Award is the highest recognition that Rotary bestows on individuals who exemplify Rotary’s motto “Service Above Self.” The Club honors individuals who have made a positive, lasting change in the quality of life in communities at home and abroad and have shown leadership in volunteer service.

The Rotary Club of Naperville celebrated its 75th anniversary this past year. It was chartered by Rotary International on March 31, 1941. For 75 years, the Rotary Club of Naperville has provided service to the community by helping others. Through the inspired commitment of its members, Rotary provides college scholarships, funding for medical screenings, food pantries, homeless shelters, clean water, health and peace and conflict resolution initiatives worldwide, and the most important signature project of our generation, eradicating polio.

The Rotary Club of Naperville was the first of several Rotary Clubs in Naperville. Meetings are held most Thursdays at 12:15PM in the Pavilion at Meson Sabika.

In addition, the Rotary Club of Naperville/Sunrise, chartered in 1991, meets at 7AM most Fridays at Naperville Country Club. The Rotary Club of Naperville/Downtown, chartered in 2007, meets at 4:44PM most Wednesdays at Hugo’s Frog Bar in the Pond Room in Main Street Promenade.
