Exchange Happenings – Exchange Club selects new board, promotes Project HELP breakfast

-

Above / Since 1987, Exchange Club of Naperville has been about developing close personal relationships with newly found friends. Members come together in order to eliminate child abuse in all forms, to foster the health and growth of a strong family unit, to promote Americanism, to strengthen the education of our children and to give ourselves in service to our community.  (PN File Photo)

UPDATE May 7, 2017 / Emy Trotz’s column mentions the fundraising breakfast on May 9 for Project HELP, a nonprofit organization that empowers parents with parenting skills, established by the Exchange Club of Naperville in 1992.

Seats ($50 each) are still available to the 2nd Annual Project HELP Community Begins at Home Breakfast slated to begin 7:30AM Tues., May 9, at the Hilton.  Dr. Dana Suskind, a Professor of Surgery at the University of Chicago, Director of the Pediatric Cochlear Implant Program, and Founder and Director of the Thirty Million Words™ Initiative, will give the keynote address.

Organizer Vicki Colletti said everyone who attends will receive a free copy of Thirty Million Words: Building a Child’s Brain, book written by Dr. Suskind. Colletti wants to emphasize that no matter the ages of the children in your life, this book will make you aware of the importance of talking to young children. Children who hear an abundance of words are better prepared when they enter school— and that’s just the beginning.

“Whether you have young children or not, be sure to take a copy of the book,” Colletti said.
