2017 Ribfest ‘mascoteer’ job will pay for athletic ability

Ribfest “Mascoteer” will fit into a special look!

Here’s a chance to flip for charity.

The Exchange Club of Naperville is looking for two athletic and energetic people to fill a new paid position at 2017 Ribfest.

If you’re looking for a fun part-time job and an opportunity to meet interesting people…

Or if  you love entertaining babies, infants and children…  And if you like meeting new people and can’t avoid dancing when the music starts…

Then Exchange encourages you to tryout to be its brand new mascot to mark the 30th anniversary of the service club.

Four-day Commitment

The job requires you to work all four (4) days at Ribfest 2017 and occasional special events year-round – think parades, parties, festivals and photo-shoots. The festival runs from Friday, June 30 to Monday, July 3. Gates open at noon each day and the park shuts down at 10PM daily.

The “mascoteer” will be expected to work each day. Organizers are looking for two athletic and energetic people that have a great sense of humor and strong work-ethic to fill this paid position. The mascot team is expected to stay together at all times and help each other when needed.

Job Description for Two 

The “mascoteers” must be fun, bubbly and have a great sense of humor. Must have a creative flair, natural charisma, curiosity and ability to think out of the box.

We are looking for innovators and those who can quickly think on their feet! You must be warm, ooze positivity and gel well with others. You must be resourceful, adaptable, be pro-active and must care about what you do.

You should be passionate and motivated. Above all, you must uphold the core moral values and integrity of the Exchange Club and treat others with care and respect at all times. We are looking for outgoing, friendly people to fill two positions.

The “mascoteer” must entertain park guests by portraying animated characters. Candidates must have the ability to follow a schedule and must be prompt. The “mascoteer” will be expected to act like a character and must pose for pictures and be funny.

Skill Qualifications

– At least 6 months experience as athlete and/or performer.

– Personality and dancing skills; good customer relations/rapport.

Schedule time To Try Out / Send Video Clip

There will be a tryout that will last 1-2 hours. If you are interested in trying out, please email a resume and a 30-second video clip to Pam Keith at mary@ribfest.net. In the video clip, don’t just tell us why you should be our mascot, show us.

Chartered in 1987, the Exchange Club of Naperville is dedicated to the elimination of child abuse and domestic violence. Through financial contributions to more than 50 local charities, the Exchange Club has raised more than $12.5 million from its service activities at Ribfest.

Project HELP is a nonprofit organization established by the Exchange Club of Naperville in 1992, and accredited by the National Exchange Club as a Child Abuse Prevention center. Through home-based mentoring and parent education training, Project HELP provides parents with the proper tools, parenting tips, advice, and support necessary to create a nurturing home environment that encourages children to reach their full potential.
