May 6, Climate change forum: North Central College and U.S. Rep. Bill Foster will cohost an open forum on the topic of climate change from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, in the College’s Ratio Hall at the new Science Center, 131 S. Chicago Ave. Sisterson is the Instrument Operations Manager for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science’s Atmospheric Radiation Measurement Climate Research Facility. May 19, Cornerstone Day Picnic: North Central College invites the community to attend the free Cornerstone Day Celebration Picnic from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 20, at Jefferson Commons, located on the lawn east of Brainard Street at Jefferson Avenue. The free event will feature sample cuisine provided by Chartwells, the College’s food service provider, and Naperville restaurants. Entertainment will be provided by talented North Central College student performers. Cornerstone Day commemorates the College’s 1870 move to Naperville and the laying of the cornerstone for Old Main. May 19-28, Art exhibit: North Central College will present a collection of artwork by Little Friends, a nonprofit organization in Naperville that empowers clients with autism and other developmental disabilities to thrive. The free exhibit, titled “Everyone Is an Artist: The Art of Identity, Inclusion and Inspiration,” will be on display May 19 through 28 in the College’s Schoenherr Gallery at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. May 22, Transfer information session: North Central College will host an information session Monday, May 22, for transfer students. May 23, Film: North Central College presents a free screening of the film “Homs’ Rain” with an introduction by Dr. Riad Ismat, a playwright, director and former minister of culture in Syria. The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, in the College’s Smith Hall at Old Main, 30 N.
