Organ Transplant Support Tree Planting – 1PM | Free

To mark National Donate Life Month in April, Organ Transplant Support is hosting its 27th annual dedication to honor organ and tissue donors at Naper Settlement on Sunday April 30. The program will commence at 1PM in the Meeting House with speeches by state and local public officials and speakers from the organ donation community. Following the memorial program, guests will adjourn outside for a ceremonial tree planting ceremony on the Settlement grounds. After the ceremony, guests will return to the Meeting House for light refreshments and socialization. Special Meeting of the Naperville City Council – 1PM | Public Welcome

A special City Council meeting will be held during which four individuals who were elected on April 4, 2017,  to serve 4-year terms on the Naperville City Council will be sworn in to office.  Council members Judith Brodhead, Kevin Coyne and John Krummen were reelected. Newcomer Benny White will be seated at the dais. The 9-member Naperville City Council also is comprised of Mayor Steve Chirico, Patty Gustin, Paul Hinterlong, Rebecca Boyd-Obarski and Becky Anderson. The public is welcome to attend the one-hour inauguration ceremony.

The NMB Summer Concert Season runs Thursday evenings, June 8 through Aug. 17 in Central Park.

The Naperville Municipal Band Spring Concert will begin at 3PM today on Sunday, April 30. Under the leadership of Conductor Ron Keller with Ann Lord serving as narrator, the 100-piece band is set to perform with internationally-acclaimed soprano Amanda Halgrimson-Walzer.  Halgrimson-Walzer is a Naperville native and Naperville Central High School graduate. The concert will be held in the Wentz Concert Hall at the North Central College Fine Arts Center.
