This month’s article is about a yummy dish I made in my Culinary Arts & Nutrition class at Naperville Central High School.
First, we marinated steak in a cilantro marinade overnight. The marinade consisted of cilantro, jalapeño, lime and olive oil.
For the next step, we diced up the steak into bite size pieces. Then we spread the marinade over the steak and added some salt and pepper.
Our steak was amazing and our teacher thought so delicious that we were asked to cook it for a staff luncheon.
The steak was used in a burrito bowl, which incorporated rice, beans, steamed veggies, salsa, lettuce, cheese and sour cream.
Then the ingredients were all mixed together to pack a punch in every bite.
All the teachers really enjoyed the combination of all the flavors in the steak.
Until next month happy eating!
