Above / The campus of North Central College is located in the heart of Naperville, just steps from downtown.
The Schoenherr Galley in the North Central College Fine Arts Center will host an exhibit of paintings by Lorraine Peltz from March 31 through May 14, 2017.
The public is welcome to a reception for “The Decorative Impulse” to be held from 6-8PM Fri., May 12.
This exhibition encompasses selections of paintings and photographs by Peltz that reflect her long held interest in place, identity, and memory. In each work she reimagines the real into images that coalesce into exuberant fields of color resonating with accumulated meanings and an expanse of visual pleasure. Peltz’s recent efforts in photography extend that interest to the landscape outside the home, finding places that evoke, through color and image, the sense of pleasure and wonder found within her paintings.
Throughout the year, the Schoenher Gallery exhibits work from professional artists and traveling collections. Most exhibits are free and open to the public. What’s more, the attractive space can be reserved for rentals, depending upon availability and the exhibit.
The Schoenherr Gallery is located at 171 E. Chicago Avenue. For more information, call 630-637-5375 for gallery hours or visit northcentralcollege.edu/show.
