Teen’s Taste – Try the Irish lamb stew

-

Spoken like a true leprechaun, St. Patrick’s day is with us, the day when all that is seen to the right and left and everywhere is green, green, green!

So this month’s dining experience took me back to my family heritage and one of my favorite spots – Quigley’s Irish Pub – located at 43 E Jefferson Avenue.

Their hours of operation are 11:30AM-1AM Monday through Thursday; 11:30AM-2AM Friday and Saturday, and 10AM-12AM on Sunday.

I am told that Quigley’s atmosphere makes you feel like you’re in an authentic Irish pub in Ireland. This dining adventure I tried the Irish Lamb Stew. This is a dish I had not tried before and one that I will definitely have again. This is a hearty mixture of fresh lamb, garlic, potatoes, carrots and herbs.

I would use “comfort food” to best describe the mouthwatering experience. The lamb was stewed to perfection.
Make sure you have bread so you are able to sop up the yummy gravy. They call Lamb Stew the Irish penicillin – that’ll cure whatever ails you and I believe it.

My mom had the traditional fish and chips and, of course, I had to sample it. The fish was golden brown, crisped to perfection and very tasty!

If you’re looking for a traditional Irish pub experience I would highly recommend Quigley’s where the staff is inviting and very friendly.

Until next month, may the luck of the Irish be with you all and happy eating the way Jack sent you.
