At the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) we like to celebrate. But there is one evening a year that we pull out all the stops for a spectacular celebration. Our WDSRA Foundation’s signature event, the Black & Red Bash is that evening!
This year’s Black & Red Bash, being held Saturday, March 4th at the Abbington Distinctive Banquets, Glen Ellyn, celebrates our families and YOU! We celebrate the beautiful individuals who are our participants and salute the families that make special recreation a playful part of their lives. And we applaud the exceptional people, like you, whose invaluable commitment make it all possible.
We put the ‘fun’ in fundraising with a robust silent auction, cash raffle, a very popular Spirit Pull and a LIVE auction that includes some once-in-a-lifetime experiences. This year our Raise the Paddle is in support of camps for our youngest participants.
Our Hall of Fame award goes to the Topfer Family Foundation, an organization who understands of the importance of special recreation services and has been demonstrating their commitment to WDSRA families for more than a decade.
As a special ‘thank you’ to our guests, we have renowned singer, songwriter, keyboardist and guitarist Bill Champlain performing a private mini concert. Bill, formerly the 28 year lead singer of the band Chicago, will also be performing a duet with one of WDSRA’s own very talented performers. Guests will also find a unique opportunity to watch Bill perform again in a very intimate setting in our LIVE auction.
