Many times I’ve used this column to say that Exchange Club of Naperville is a wonderful organization that has given millions of dollars back to the community to help social services. As we begin another new year, I also recognize that our club is a family. And members are kept up to date by a weekly newsletter and emails when necessary.
This past year especially, our club has been able to observe the fine work that’s being accomplished by Project H.E.L.P., a nonprofit organization established by Exchange Club in 1992 in an effort to help parents achieve better parenting skills.
Here’s a recent message from Peggy McGuire, Executive Director of Project HELP:
Hello Everyone,
Our team has walked our families through some rough times this week. The holidays do not always bring out the best in families. We are thankful for the week’s end and all the support we were able to give to some of our families in turmoil. We are also thankful that we had a very kind board member deliver us lunch today to our staff meeting. It was fun and a well-deserved treat for our staff.
I am always exceptionally reflective over the year’s accomplishments and areas for growth at this time of year. I take pride in setting and tracking goals and resolutions and meeting them. I know— corny— but I truly do. I keep my Friday emails to specifically what has happened at Project HELP during the week, so I will not drag you through all the amazing things this team of people has managed to accomplish in 2016! There was nothing “picture worthy” this week, unfortunately. Please trust me when I say we see the good, bad and ugly and this team is changing our community!!!
I wish all of you everything that Heaven and Earth can offer! I look forward to all that we will do together in 2017!
The Exchange Club of Naperville is always looking for new members to join our mission and to help at our signature event, Ribfest. I hope you’ll get to know us at www.exchangeclub.org and I hope you also have a wonderful 2017.
