Sources for WSI Quiz Night may be questionable, but this month’s game is Nov. 8

Above / Regulars who help run WSI Quiz Night at Quigley’s Irish Pub know how to find good answers to the trivia questions. Just visit wsirish.org for clues such as this month’s categories (Dry Spells, Body Doubles,
First Ladies and Cleveland Rocks!) as well as the Web Bonus Question: Name all of the women who have served as governor of the State of Illinois.

Trivia for Election Night Quiz Night: Who is this guy?

For 11 years, teams of folks who enjoy trivia have counted on first Tuesday WSI Quiz Nights every month, hosted by familiar folks at the officials table who always appear to welcome the good time.  Thoughts of trivia gathering attract fun-loving and competitive folks to the pub in downtown Naperville, but for November players need to note an extra week to brush up on information often considered of little importance or value.

The West Suburban Irish Quiz Night at Quigley’s for November 2016 is being delayed a week to accommodate sports fans likely to be clued and glued in front of the TV for Game 6 of the World Series between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians. Most folks know Game 7 ended with a Cubs victory and the club’s first World Series Championship in 108 years.

Trivia begins at 7PM Tues., Nov. 8

Now in the 11th year of trivial pursuits, the West Suburban Irish will host its monthly Quiz Night at Quigley’s Irish Pub for November beginning at 7PM Tues., Nov. 8.

Yes. 7PM Tues., Nov. 8 is the exact time the polls close for the General Election.

Few folks can think of a better way to pass the time while waiting for election results than to play trivia with friends and regulars who make Quigley’s Irish Pub a habit.

Then next month, team up to begin again, as Michael Finnegan would say, at 7PM Tues., Dec. 6; followed by 7PM Tues., Jan. 10, 2017, and so on through the year with breaks in July for Independence Day and September for Labor Day.

Put together a team (2 to 10 players without electronic devices), come up with a definitive name, test your combined knowledge and win some silly prizes.  (Some of the silly prizes make great stocking stuffers, so don’t feel guilty if you give up a shopping evening for Quiz Night in December.) Test your competitive spirit, too! Cheers!

Quiz Night celebrates its 11th year, but not with the calendar year

According to Chuck Corrigan, president of the spirited, fun-loving group known for organizing the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Naperville, the West Suburban Irish host the pub quiz, a common form of entertainment in Irish pubs, and a great evening out with friends.

“So as not to compete with Ribfest or the Last Fling, we usually take off in the months of July and September, but are usually on the first Tuesday of the month at Quigley’s,” Corrigan has repeated over and over during the 11-year run of events.

Save the date for Emerald Dinner

Save February 27, 2017, for the annual Emerald Dinner hosted by the organization to benefit, in part, St. Baldrick’s Foundation in search of a cure for childhood cancers.  The 2017 Emerald Dinner will be held at the new banquet facility in downtown Naperville, Elements at Water Street. The popular dinner brings together “good friends, good food and good music” for a memorable evening to kick off March events and the parade to celebrate St. Patrick.
