The City of Naperville reminds residents of street closures, parking restrictions, shuttle locations and accessibility plans that will be in effect throughout Jaycees Last Fling today Mon., Sept. 5.

Look for Positively Naperville (#29) in the parade featuring music from an ensemble from the Pete Ellman Big Band.

The final day of Last Fling, Sept. 5,  is open 10AM to 8PM.

Sponsored by the Naperville Jaycees, the Last Fling includes a carnival with food vendors, triathlon, 5K and one-mile run, business expo, Labor Day Parade and more.

The annual Labor Day Parade steps off at 10AM in downtown Naperville.  Be prepared for road closures.

Labor Day Parade, NCAA Women’s Invitational Triathlon, Rooster 5K & Fling Mile

Cheers to runners!

The 2016 Labor Day Parade will take place at 10AM on Monday, September 5 in downtown Naperville.

New this year, North Central College will host a NCAA Women’s Invitational Triathlon. The event will begin at Centennial Beach at 6:45AM, include a bike portion and end with a 5K run along the parade route.

The Fling Mile will take place starting at 8:45AM near the corner of Douglas and Mill Street and end at Porter Avenue near Naperville Central high school.

The Rooster 5K will take place starting at 9AM along the parade route.

Some road closures Labor Day

Road closures and no parking zones are in effect Monday, September 5 to accommodate the Labor Day Parade, NCAA Women’s Triathlon, Rooster 5k and Fling Mile.

The details regarding dates, times and locations of these closures and parking restrictions can be found on color-coded maps atwww.naperville.il.us/lastfling.

Remote Parking and Shuttle Locations

Free public shuttles serving Last Fling will run to and from three remote parking locations near the downtown Naperville area, located at:

  • Burlington commuter parking lot, southeast corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street
  • North Central College, corner of Brainard Street and Highland Avenue
  • All Saints Catholic Academy, 1155 Aurora Ave.

Shuttles will run approximately every 30 minutes. Pick-ups and drop-offs take place on-site at the corner of Eagle Street and Aurora Avenue. Visit www.naperville.il.us/lastfling or www.lastfling.org for service availability. Parking is also available in parking lots and decks throughout downtown Naperville. Accessible Parking

Accessible parking for the event on-site will be available at Naper Settlement all-day September 5; the Rotary Hill parking lot located on Aurora Avenue; and in the lower level of the Naperville Municipal Center, located at 400 S. Eagle St. Please note that for the duration of the event, the entrance to the Municipal Center parking lot will be off of Webster Street.

Off-site accessible parking is also available at All Saints Academy, 1155 Aurora Ave. Accessible shuttle bus service is available at this location approximately every 30 minutes.

Accessible parking is available in all of the parking lots and parking decks located throughout downtown Naperville as well as on some of the streets. A color-coded accessible parking map is available to view at www.naperville.il.us/lastfling.
