The smell of sausage on a Sunday morning is one of my favorite smells.
This month I am taking you for a dining experience in my kitchen. For starters, my mom makes the best skillet pancakes. Her secret, she said, is in the pads of butter she uses to cook the pancakes in and the hot skillet. She cooks them to perfection – fluffy and the butter adds just the right amount of richness to the edges.
Then I get to add to the meal and make my famous cheesy eggs. To start, I break 6 eggs into a bowl and add a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper. I then whisk in ¼ cup of milk. I add to tablespoons to a non-stick pan and heat to a low setting, I then slowly pour the egg mixture into the pan, folding the mixture every few seconds until partially cooked.
I then take two slices of American cheese and stir that into the egg mixture and cook for a few more minutes.
What you have are very moist and tasty cheesy eggs.
When served along with my mom’s yummy pancakes, sausage and a splash of syrup, this breakfast equals heaven!
Until next time keep cooking and enjoying your summer and treat your family to special Sunday eggs – Jack-the-foodie style.
