What are the important issues in your neighborhood? The Confederation is scheduling our meetings through May of 2017 with a few ideas we plan to explore.
The only “firm” meeting right now is our planned tour of the Naperville Park District’s new Fort Hill Activity Center on September 17. Other things on our radar are meeting the new President of College of DuPage; our annual Q&A sessions with local state legislators and City Council members; a look at County government services in both Will and DuPage; how commercial development impacts residential property taxes; substance abuse in our community; and a legal update for Homeowner Association boards, including new mandates and regulations from Springfield. We’re also planning on hosting candidate forums prior to the November and April elections to ask candidates questions homeowners want answered.
We are committed to our mission to provide, through regular meetings, special events such as candidate and issue forums, a medium for homeowner concerns and interests and hope these topics help meet this promise. We also, as a service to our members, work to create an awareness of residents’ needs by developing and maintaining relationships with all levels of government including national, state, city, counties, townships, and school and park districts.
Lastly, we support our member associations with their organizational and program needs by facilitating an interchange of ideas, resources, and information between and among individual homeowners, their association boards, and the community at large.
