arnie-pencils
Meet Arnie at Oswald’s U.S. Post Office! And see him in the April print issue of PN!

Plan ahead for spring holidays with novelty gifts, greeting cards, colorfully-wrapped candies and other supplies at Oswald’s Pharmacy where there’s a convenient U.S. Post Office location in Naperville Plaza. Arnie’s there much of the time to help with watch batteries and he’ll even point you in the right direction to find pencils and other basics!

In addition, Oswald’s recently added a new Medical Equipment Showroom with all kinds of items to keep folks of all ages moving. Oswald’s new showroom also has the largest selection of lift chairs and other devices to give a little lift.

Market Meadows

cory's-shoes
While checking out this small sampling of sandals, part of a large selection at Toby’s Comfort Shoes, we learned that the shoe store was named after the family dog. We love history!

If you’re looking for comfortable sandals for spring and summer, new styles are arriving regularly at Toby’s Comfort Shoes, located in Market Meadows, 75th Street and Naper Boulevard.

The independently-owned shoe store is a showcase of the best brands of casual shoes, boots, sandals and sports socks for all seasons. From narrow to double wide, many women’s sizes up to 11 and many men’s sizes up to 15, find a good, professional fit that will be comfortable from the get go.

Toby’s Comfort Shoes also carry “slip-free” shoes with arch supports for folks in service industries likely to be on their feet all day.

CityGate Centre

citygate-entrance
Did you know? Hotel Arista was awarded Four Stars by Forbes Travel Guide.

When you head to the Hotel Arista, CityGate Grille, Sugar Toad or Tap In Pub & Carvery at CityGate Centre or a new experience at Top Golf on Naperville’s northwest side, be mindful of the new traffic configuration at I-88 and Route 59 that may create a little confusion for first-time users.

As always, drive with caution according to weather conditions and observe the speed limit. The innovative diverging diamond interchange, now open, is expected to enhance traffic flow on and off I-88.

(The first diverging diamond interchange opened to traffic in the state of Illinois on I-57 at Marion on August 12, 2015. Diverging diamond interchanges are now operational in 18 states across the nation, with plans to construct them in six other states.)

Naperville offers many ways to eat your heart out…

Annual Township Meetings after 6PM Tuesday, April 12

The City of Naperville is served by townships Naperville, Wheatland, DuPage, Lisle, Winfield and Milton. All six townships (and every one of the 1,433 townships by county in Illinois) will hold their annual meetings at the same time in different locations on Tues., April 12, 2016.

Naperville Township, the largest of the six, serves 34,000 property owners of the 58,000 properties in Naperville.

The Annual Naperville Township Town Meeting, 7PM Tuesday, April 12, 2016, will be held at Naperville Township Road District Office, 31W331 North Aurora Road, Naperville, Illinois 60563. Naperville Township registered voters can sign up to speak beginning at 6PM. The topic of a road consolidation proposal is on the agenda. (PN has attended these meetings at the Naperville Township Road District Office for many years and they’re always informative!)

FYI: According to Illinois Township Code, “the annual township meeting in the respective townships for the transaction of the business of the township shall be held on the second Tuesday of April in each year, after 6PM, at the place appointed for those meetings.”

Have you read the latest about the Independent Map Amendment?

According to recent news reports, organizers and supporters petitioning to put redrawing the Illinois District Maps question on the General Election Ballot, Nov. 8, 2016, are on their way to having the signatures they need.

Visit Independent Map Amendment to check their progress as they aim to create a nonpartisan 11-member board and “a system where the voters choose their representatives instead of the representatives choosing their voters.”
