Naperville Jaycees to assist US Army Recruiting Command with Army Interactive Semi Display

-

Above / During the 2015 Last Fling, the Army Fun Zone in Family Fun Land at Naperville Settlement was an attractive exhibit with impressive vehicles such as the LTMV.  On April 7, an educational display in an Army Interactive Semi will be open at Rotary Hill.

The US Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) will be providing the residents of Naperville with a rare treat as they roll into downtown Naperville on Thursday, April 7, with one of their Army Adventure Semi’s for a full day of interactive fun and education.

The Army Adventure Semi is considered by the US Army as a national asset and is just one of four semis that travel the country as part of the Army’s Accessions Support Brigade. The Accessions Support Brigade initially began in 1936 when the Army tasked a small group of soldiers to man an exhibit at the World’s Fair in New York City. Since then, the ASB has evolved into a full-fledged operation whose mission is to conduct professional mobile and fixed exhibits, provide multi-media and graphics support, and produce marketing and incentive products to provide quality leads to the US Army accessions effort, enhance public awareness, and connect America’s people with the America’s Army.

The Army Adventure Semi will be parked at the top of Rotary Hill on Aurora Avenue, across the street from Naperville Central High School and will provide a full day of interactive educational exhibits, simulations, and will have active duty Army personnel onsite to answer any questions or concerns the public may have.

Last year alone, the ASB travelled over 635,000 miles and were host to over 270,000 visitors.

As the US Army is a continued sponsor of the Naperville Jaycees Last Fling Labor Day Festival and hosts the Army Fun Zone in Family Fun Land; the Jaycees of Naperville are proud to help the US Army in any way to promote education and leadership to the adults and children of the City of Naperville.
