-

lemon-zest
To prove this contest is no lemon, the first player to identify these two fruit sources of lemon zest will win a $50 gift certificate to Catch 35 in downtown Naperville, good any time during 2016 Naperville Restaurant Week, Feb. 15-29.

UPDATE, Jan. 24, 2016 / First off, remember the deadline to play 2016 Naper Trivia is at 11:30PM Mon., Jan. 25. Just as the first person to play will win a prize, so will the the last person to enter, no matter what the score.

Currently, the high score to beat is held by Kate Schultz.  Her strategic play resulted in 3,997,344 points! Only the first 30 participants are posted online, so if your performance is not up to your expectations, no one will know!

2016 Naper Trivia was busy overnight! As of 10AM, Sun., Jan. 24,  entries have pushed players off the top 30. Now the score of 81,471 points is in position 30. At this moment, nine players have scores higher than 2,132,082.  Keep it up!

Winners will be announced in the February issue of PN.

Thanks to all for taking the challenge!

In a separate challenge, if you can correctly identify the fruit sources of lemon zest, simply send your first and last name, address and phone number via email to Stephanie@positivelynaperville.com. Include “Lemon Zest” in the subject line.

FYI: And for a little note of personal trivia, today, Jan. 24, is Candyce Krumwiede’s birthday. The former Naperville resident, also my cousin who now lives in South Carolina, attracted our family to Naperville back in the early 1990s. Happy Birthday, Candyce!

Update Jan. 12, 2016: Thanks to everyone who has been playing the 2016 Naper Trivia. Players likely have noticed only the top 30 players are listed. Thanks to some offers from local merchants such as Naperville Concierge Services who want to contribute prizes, we just decided to present prizes to many of the top players. Stay tuned.

Editor’s Note, Jan. 11, 2016 / This fast-paced Pop Naper Trivia Quiz, created by PN’s Web Editor, welcomes players to improve their score by trying and trying again!  Play can be contagious, but not for long. The more you try, the higher your score until you reach the limit. Enjoy the challenge!

Cheers to another New Year!

Original Post, Jan. 7, 2016 / The January issue of Positively Naperville features the Naper Trivia 2016 Pop Quiz, the fifth test of local lore presented since PN first hit the streets during the Naperville Jaycees Last Fling Labor Day Parade in September 2001.

PN’s Pop Quiz is designed to be taken online at trivia.positivelynaperville.comand can be taken beginning at midnight 12AM on Friday, Jan 8, thru 11:30PM Mon., Jan. 25.

In addition to a grand prize for the best score, prizes will be awarded to the first person as well as the last person to enter the Pop Quiz. To be eligible, game players need to be sure to fill out their name and contact info. PN will only use this information in order to contact winners and distribute prizes.

Answering all 50 questions (maybe more!) will be easy for regular PN readers. A few surprise bonus questions will provide opportunities to boost your score – determined by a super-secret algorithm.

The grand prize for the highest score is a one-year membership to the brand new Signature Fitness Club, a 24-hour health club located at 1531 N. Aurora Road, and $200 in gift certificates to Catch 35 in downtown Naperville. Other prizes will be announced online throughout the month.

For instance,  Dawn Dau of Naperville Concierge Services has donated five $10 Lou Malnati gift cards.

An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
