On Tuesday December 8, 2015, at approximately 8:02PM, the Naperville Police Department and the Naperville Fire Department responded to Ogden Ave and Fort Hill for a vehicle crash between a Silver 2003 Jeep Cherokee driven by 32-year-old male and a maroon 2005 Toyota driven by 18-year-old male.

Initial investigation indicates that the Jeep was westbound Ogden Ave. and turned left onto Fort Hill Drive in front of the Toyota which was eastbound Ogden with the right of way.

The driver of the Toyota suffered serious injuries and was transported to Edward Hospital for treatment.

Due to the nature of the incident, members of the Naperville Traffic Unit trained in accident investigation and reconstruction responded to the scene to investigate the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time.

The intersection of Ogden Ave and Fort Hill was closed for approximately four hours, reopening at 11:45PM.

Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to contact the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit at (630) 420-8833.

Report submitted by Sergeant Derek Zook #5000, Traffic Supervisor/K9 Supervisor, Naperville Police Department

stop_text_driveEditor’s Note: During a visit to the crash scene, we observed the speed limit along Ogden Avenue is 40 miles per hour. Observe all local speed limits which can vary throughout the city, depending whether the street is a federal or state road, major artery or neighborhood street.

Remember, the speed limit throughout Naperville is 25 miles per hour unless otherwise posted.  Speed limits are even slower in school zones. Mind the rules of the road and always come to a complete stop at a four-way stop.

Monday afternoon a fender bender occurred at a four-way stop in a West Wind subdivision school zone. More than ever, pay attention when driving no matter what the speed limit. Watch out for the other guy.
