NCHS Band Boosters will host its 4th Annual Trivia Night, a charity “friend-raiser” to benefit all NCHS band students, beginning at 7PM on Fri., Jan. 15, 2016, at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center.
Ticket sales are now in progress at band events through the end of December or by contacting Felecia Bruessel at nchs.band.volunteers@gmail.com.
Tickets ($30 each in Dec. / $35 each in Jan.) are pre-sale only; no tickets will be available at the door.
Friend-raiser first, competition second
Organizers are promoting the event as “more about having fun, not competing.”
Every table of eight will comprise a team. Eight friends, family and/or fellow band parents can sign up as a group or individuals may sign up and be assigned to a group of eight.
Prior to the event, members of each team will have the chance to come up with a theme for their table and prepare table decorations, provide refreshments for the eight-member team and plan attire. The best theme could win a prize.
For example, if a theme is football, the team can wear Bears jerseys and the table can be set up for a tailgate party with snacks.
Teams are encouraged to arrive at 7PM to decorate tables, 30 minutes in advance of trivia play.
Drink tickets will be sold for a variety of beverages including soft drinks, water, well drinks, domestic beer and wine.
A silent auction and raffles also will be presented as fundraisers within the fun evening. Hotel nights and tickets to a major sporting event will be among the prizes. Items that will be up for grabs are now being collected.
The Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center is located at 305 W. Jackson Ave.
Doors open at 7PM. The trivia contest starts promptly at 7:30PM.
