Naperville Park District Police hosts Toys for Tots collection, now through Dec. 16

Above / Donate brand new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 16 so Naperville Park District Police can assist the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve collection of Toys for Tots during the 2015 holiday season.

Since 1947, this logo created by Walt Disney has marked the spot to donate brand new toys for less fortunate children.

Members of the Naperville Park District Police invite the community to contribute new, unwrapped toys for the 2015 Toys for Tots program, hosted by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.

Toys will be collected at various locations beginning Monday, Nov. 2 through Wednesday, Dec. 16.

“We have been collecting toys for this program since 2008 to help brighten the holidays for children in need,” said Chief Carl Schnibben. “Each year we are encouraged by the generous response from our community.”

Collection Sites

  • Park District Administration Building, located at 320 W. Jackson Ave. Hours of operations are:  Monday-Friday, 8:30AM to 5PM, and Saturday, 9AM to noon.
  • Park District Planning Office, located at 425 W. Jackson Avenue. Hours of operations are:  Monday-Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM.
  • Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, located at 305 W. Jackson Ave. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday, 8:30AM to 10PM and Saturday, 9AM to 4PM.
  • Barn Recreation Center, located at 421 W. Martin Ave. Hours of operation are: Sunday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Friday & Saturday, 8AM to noon.
  • 95th Street Center, located at 2244 W. 95th St. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday, 8:30AM to 5PM.
  • Knoch Knolls Nature Center, located at 320 Knoch Knolls Rd. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday, 9AM-4PM, Saturday, 10AM – 3PM and Sunday 11AM -3PM.

Drop off at Santa House, too!

The Santa House,  located at the corner of Jackson Avenue and Webster Street on the Naperville Riverwalk, is another drop-off site for Toys for Tots, Dec. 2 through Dec. 16.

Note: The community may bring toys to Santa House after Dec. 16 as well; these toys will be donated to local charities.

Toys for Tots accepts only new, unwrapped toys. Please do not donate stuffed animals or toy weapons.

Editor’s Note / The end-date of Dec. 16, 2015, for the Toys for Tots collection is necessary in order for the toys to be distributed in time for Christmas gifts.
