Metea Valley senior running back Maurice Burkley
Burkley did his best in making sure Metea Valley went out with a bang against West Aurora in its regular-season finale. Posting a career night on his final night as a Mustang, Burkley ran 33 times for 264 yards and three touchdowns in the Mustangs’ 44-37 victory. Burkley finished his year with 777 rushing yards and four TDs on 135 carries.

Defensive Player of the Week
Naperville North junior defensive back Grant Ericksen
Ericksen helped Anthony Silvestri’s defense end the year on a good note on Friday. Ericksen’s two interceptions helped the Huskies win at Wheaton Warrenville South, 7-6, to go into the offseason with a two-game winning streak. Ericksen concluded the year with 31 tackles and three interceptions.
