With help from its generous supporters, Family Shelter Service recently won $10,000 in the Baird & Warner “160 Years of Giving Back” program, sponsored by the Baird & Warner Goodwill Network.
Each of the 25 Baird & Warner branch offices nominated a nonprofit in the community that addresses the needs of those less fortunate and helps them live healthy, safe and productive lives. Family Shelter Service was nominated by the Glen Ellyn Baird & Warner office, located at 543 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Votes were cast from Sept. 1 – 30. A total of $160,000 was given out to the sixteen charities who received the most votes during the month-long competition and more than 80,000 votes were tallied.
“There is truly no better way to celebrate Baird & Warner’s 160th anniversary than by empowering our neighbors to help in our local communities,” said Jennifer Alter Warden, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Baird & Warner, Chicagoland’s largest, locally owned independent residential real estate services company.
Through the Baird & Warner Good Will Network, Baird & Warner has donated millions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours to a wide array of Chicagoland nonprofit organizations with a focus on shelter and homelessness, particularly for women and children.
