Discover what’s new in Downtown Naperville

-

While the colorful leaves are falling, rustling along the sidewalks in downtown Naperville, the streetscape is blooming with several new businesses, just in time for the holiday season.

According to Ruth Yackley of Main Street Promenade, a new women’s clothing boutique has opened along Main Street, one of three bevello shops in Illinois.  Started in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 2009, the company known for its “fresh looks without breaking the bank” has been growing, now with more than 35 locations throughout the southern United States and Chicagoland.

A new gallery with decorative and wearable art, Artezanato, is located in a cozy space, just off Washington Street, along the alley near Beidelman Furniture, downtown Naperville’s oldest business.

Edie’s Boutique with women’s accessories, jewelry and clothing opened recently at 15 W. Jefferson.

And over along Chicago Ave., the former Sugar Monkey Cupcakes has expanded its tasty baked treats with more selections and changed its name to Mo’s Bake House.

In addition, 47 E. Chicago Ave. in Washington Corners.

Downtown Naperville offers more than 100 stores, including long-established Dean’s Fine Clothing and Anderson’s Bookshops, as well as 40 eateries right in the heart of the city.

Just steps from Naperville Settlement, an outdoor history museum; art museums and entertainment venues at North Central College; and the Naperville Riverwalk, downtown Naperville offers something to whet every appetite every day.

Halloween Hop

The new shops have arrived to offer more choices during the holiday season, and you could say they’ve also opened in time for the Halloween Hop, slated from 10AM to noon on Sun., Oct. 25.

Costumed characters decked out as ghouls, goblins, witches and super heroes are welcome to come on downtown to enjoy a great morning filled with fun and candy and non-candy surprises.
