Something’s Cooking One More Time at Soup’s On

-

Rotary cooks up a recipe for success to help the hungry and homeless in DuPage County…

soups-onThe Rotary Club of Naperville will sponsor The Farewell Food Tour for Soups On! from 11:30AM to 3:30PM on Sun., Oct. 18, at Naperville Central High School.

Visitors will get more than soup when they visit the annual Soup’s On fundraiser. They’ll not only get an afternoon of entertainment from our local high schools, but the chance to sample delicious delights from over 20 of the area’s top restaurants.

Event Co-chair Nina Menis said, “It is a perfect setting with volunteer support from the community as well as the local Rotary Interact students and entertainment from high schools in districts 203 and 204 along with a great school to showcase the event.”

The venue will not only place visitors right in the heart of downtown Naperville, but will offer a larger space with more parking and dining.

Menis pointed out that 100 percent of the admission money will go to the charities. “While the guests enjoy great food and beverages, award winning musical entertainment from School Districts 203 and 204, an attractive silent auction line-up, a special children’s play area sponsored by the DuPage Children’s Museum, they can take great comfort in the knowledge that they are helping our neighbors in need with food and shelter assistance.”

Restaurants will be serving everything from great beef selections and tasty BBQ sandwiches plus artisan breads, gourmet cheeses as well as soup, regular and vegetarian chili and gumbo. Dessert lovers won’t be disappointed either.

Co-Chair Bill Garlough noted, “One of the Rotary International goals is to address global hunger and homelessness, and part of the global struggle takes place right here. We hope to help local charities that are addressing hunger and homelessness in our regional community.”

All proceeds from this event will go to Hesed House, DuPage PADS, Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry and The Rotary Club of Naperville Charities. The Rotary has raised more than $800,000 with Soups On! over the years. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend this year’s event.

Tickets are $45 for adults, $10 for children 6 to 12 with discount tickets for seniors and the military at $35. For tickets and more information, visit www.soupsonrotary.com.

All Rotarians and volunteers hope you can be a part of this fundraiser to help address hunger and homelessness in our community.
