Since the 167th monthly issue of Positively Naperville was published last month, several milestones have created lasting memories for folks who enjoy the traditions that keep this community moving forward.
Under glorious sunshine, September witnessed the 50th Last Fling and Parade, the 30th Naperville Art League Riverwalk Fine Art Fair and the 55th Reunion for the Naperville Community High School Class of 1960 during 2015 NCHS Homecoming, to name a few.
This publication also printed its first three “weekly” editions, a sensibly-sized 16-page supplement to the monthly. The new addition features more focus on high school sports. It’s available for pick up on Wednesdays at businesses around town.
To kick off October, Oswald’s Pharmacy will celebrate its 140th birthday with a ribbon cutting at 4:30PM on Oct. 1 and an all-day party on Oct. 3.
We’ve been trying to highlight all the things happening on Oct. 3, including the annual Public Safety Open House from 11AM to 3PM, in the PN weekly and on our website. All those events will be here and gone, possibly even before you have a chance to read this issue. Cheers to all!
Laugh & Be Happy
Yogi Berra was one of the greatest catchers in baseball. When we heard the news about his death on Sept. 22, we also were mindful that the Hall of Famer was among the most quotable. When we’ve attended recent memorial services, you might say Berra’s wit and way with words got us to the church on time.
“Always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise they won’t come to yours.”
–Yogi Berra
Wouldn’t we all like to be remembered for our funny way with words!
Moving right along
Positively Naperville editors like to say “PN is a preview upcoming happenings rather than a review of what’s happened.”
Our aim is to create an innovative, independent publication, always a work in progress, with the flexibility and desire to make a difference by promoting good news, locally relevant stories, original content and community spirit.
Celebrate safely. And thanks for reading.
