The kids are back in school, so with a little more time on their hands, many families in Naperville turn their attention to home improvement projects. At NCTV17, our ‘improvement’ projects are usually tackled in the summer months when high school and college sports are on hiatus. This summer was no different.
For the past couple of months our webmaster has been hard at work with the folks at Launch Digital Marketing designing and building a new website for the station. The new site is designed to make it even easier for residents to watch their favorite TV shows and share video content with their family and friends. Check it out at NCTV17.com.
On Sunday, August 23 the ninth season of “Naperville Sports Weekly” launched with two new hosts: Nico Haeflinger and Joe Olmo, a new set and graphics, plus several exciting new special segments. What’s not new is BMO Harris Bank is back as the presenting sponsor and we thank them for their continued financial support of this show!
They are joined this season by many other local businesses who are helping our student athletes enjoy their local “ESPN moment”: Aurelio’s Pizza, Comcast, Continental Motors, Crosstown Pub & Grill, Daily Herald, Edgewood Clinical Services, First Student, Nyberg & Cassioppi, Promenade Bolingbrook, Whole Foods, and WOW!
With the help of a City of Naperville SECA grant, the station upgraded its lighting grid in August to not only improve how we light our studio-based productions but also allow for future installation of LED lights to decrease our energy footprint.
Also with the help of a SECA grant, NCTV17 spent the summer perfecting their use of a new streaming technology called TVU to bring residents LIVE coverage of many community events including the Naperville Municipal Band concerts in Central Park and the first ever India Day Parade.
While it hasn’t been a relaxing summer at NCTV17, it’s certainly been a very productive one, so we invite the community to check out everything that’s new with their local TV station!
