Naperville Park District 2016 Capital Projects Open House is set for Aug. 13

Above / Neighborhood and community parks provide many opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors every season.  The community is invited to comment on proposed projects prior to regular meeting of the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners at the Naperville Municipal Center. 

As part of its annual budget process, the Naperville Park District invites the public to comment on capital improvements proposed throughout the District for 2016.

A community open house will be held from 5:30 to 7PM on Thursday, August 13, in the lobby of the Naperville Municipal Center, located at 400 S. Eagle Street in downtown Naperville.

The open house will take place immediately before the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, slated to begin at 7PM.

Proposed 2016 Capital Projects

Information about the following capital projects that are proposed for 2016 will be available at the open house:

  • Bailey Hobson Woods Park – Sidewalk extension (north side of retention basin)
  • Baileywood Park – Shoreline restoration
  • Frontier Sports Complex – Site improvements (restroom, parking lot, pathways, and athletic fields)
  • Huntington Estates Park  – Playground renovation
  • Knoch Knolls Park – Segment V DuPage River Trail development
  • Knoch Park – Central Maintenance Facility development
  • May Watts Park – Trail improvement (west side)
  • Old Sawmill Park – Playground, backstop, and sidewalk renovation
  • Walnut Ridge Park – Playground renovation

Park District staff will be on hand to answer questions about any of the above projects.

The community is welcome to attend the August 13 open house at any time during the 5:30-7PM timeframe; there will not be a formal presentation.

Individuals interested but unable to attend are invited to view the plans online and submit comments by August 25 to Director of Planning Eric Shutes at eshutes@napervilleparks.org. Project information will be posted at www.napervilleparks.org beginning August 14.
