The Y – Lazy Days Are Here

-

The lazy days of summer are here, and we find ourselves in the wonderful month of August. We have had a great summer at the Naperville YMCAs, and there is still time to enjoy all that comes with warm weather while preparing for fall activities.

The YMCA has been busy engaging youth ages 3 to 15 in diverse activities at summer camp. We have had more than 250 campers “Join the Fun” at the Y. They are developing new skills, exploring different points of interests, discovering the wonder of nature and the great outdoors, and continuing learning through reading and science.
Great things happen when children unplug and play!

Let the adventure continue into the fall through the Y’s Adventure Guides and Princesses program. This family program is rich in tradition and provides fathers with an opportunity to strengthen relationships with their children through shared experiences, such as campouts, parades, special trips and much more. Many adults have wonderful memories of participating in this program with their parents. The Big Teepee Federation invites all Naperville Families to get involved. Register today.

“Grow, Learn, and Thrive” is this fall’s focus for our youngest community members. The Y offers educational preschool beginning at age 2, along with swimming lessons and beginning sports enrichment. Every child age 3 and older enrolled in our preschool programs receives a swimming lesson as part of the curriculum

School-age children have an opportunity to participate in the Safe ‘n Sound program at their school for Before & After School Care, and the YMCA offers a wide variety of activities, including swimming lessons, swim team, youth basketball, dance, art and more. At the Y, we value our youth and support positive experiences that nurture their potential and exercise their imagination.
