Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7 will showcase a variety of tribute bands on the Last Fling Main Stage in addition to winners from the Singing at the Fling competition and the official Fling Mile-Rooster 5K-Fling Challenge After Party.
After completing the Last Fling’s new Rooster 5K, Toma Dobrosavljevic, Season 16 winner of NBC’s hit show “The Biggest Loser,” will invite runners from the Fling Mile, Rooster 5K and Fling Challenge to the official after party at the Thomas Coffee Main Stage at 9:45AM. The after party will showcase winners from each of the races, and Toma will speak about his journey to a healthier lifestyle.
The music will begin at 10AM with LiveWire, a young rock band from the western suburbs of Chicago. The four members of the band range in age from 10 to 12 years old, but they don’t let their youth get in the way of how hard they rock. With influences that range from Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles to Nirvana and the Foo Fighters, LiveWire plays with a maturity that belies their years.
After competing in the Singing at the Fling Finals on the Entertainment Stage on Sunday, Sept. 6, the first place Singing at the Fling winners in each category will be invited to sing on the Main Stage on Monday, Sept. 7 at 11:45AM.
Axis is dedicated to keeping the memory of Jimi Hendrix alive and will take to the Main Stage at noon. The band has played and torn the roofs off many of Chicago’s best venues.
Tumbling Dice, Chicago’s greatest Rolling Stones Cover band, will give listeners the opportunity to experience the music of the Stones live and up close and will perform at the Main Stage at 1:45PM.
Labor Day’s Main Stage entertainment will wrap up when In the Flesh takes the stage at 3:30PM. In the Flesh, the Midwest’s premiere Pink Floyd show, not only recreates the Floyd classics, but presents them in an electric, theatrical celebration of their greatest music. The project has been reinvented since the 90’s with a new lineup and some huge steps forward in production and presentation, this time with more Floyd than ever before.
The Fling Mile/Rooster 5K/Fling Challenge After Party, Axis, the Singing at the Fling winners, Tumbling Dice and In the Flesh will all take place on the Main Stage, located at the base of Rotary Hill near Naperville’s famed Riverwalk.
