Hazardous Weather Expected Monday Evening

Just after noon, Monday, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood and tornado watch for the Naperville area with up to 1-3 inches of rain. The watch is in effect until 1AM Tuesday morning.

Thunderstorms and severe weather is likely across northern Illinois. Some expected hazards include wind gusts up to 80 MPH, golf-ball-size hail, tornadoes and torrential downpours.

It’s beginning to look threatening out there. Beware of flash floods until early Tuesday morning. Heed warnings to stay off the DuPage River and other flooded roadways.
