Summer Place Theatre Presents: Monty Python’s Spamalot – 3PM | $10-$18
Naperville Central High School – 440 Aurora Ave. Naperville, IL 60540
Written by original Monty Python members Eric Idle, Neil Innes, and new collaborator John Du Prez, this lovingly silly tribute to Monty Python and the Holy Grail debuted on Broadway in 2005. With such notable cast members as Tim Curry, Michael McGrath, David Hyde Pierce, Hank Azaria, Christopher Sieber, Christian Borle, and John Cleese, these knights started on a quest for the Holy Grail, and to this day, the quest continues. Arthur and his crew travel across the land, fight The Black Knight, make a pitstop in Camelot, run from some very rude Frenchmen, and learn about love and being yourself – especially Lancelot. With songs like I am Not Dead Yet, The Song That Goes Like This, Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, and Whatever Happened to My Part?, Spamalot mixes gentle teasing of Broadway musicals and affectionate, catchy tunes. This summer, join the Lady of the Lake, King Arthur, and his knights as they prance and dance and eat spam alot, and be sure to bring your coconuts.
