Equal Fun For Everyone – Stay Connected to WDSRA for a Spectacular Summer

-

More than ever summer time is family fun time! To find out how and where families with children with special needs can enjoy family friendly activities designed especially for them, be sure to get connected to Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA).

Being connected to WDSRA can get you the inside scoop on screenings of this summer’s blockbusters, family swim nights around town, carnivals with special hours, and a host of other events which cater to families with special needs.

Here are just a few of the events taking place this summer in and around the Naperville area:

The Naperville Park District offers Special Needs Swim Nights at Centennial Beach. Families are invited to enjoy a quiet, relaxing evening at Centennial Beach. The shallow end and slide is open 6:30-8PM on June 28, July 5 and July 26. For info, visit www.centennialbeach.org/specialneedsnights.

Studio Movie Grill (Wheaton) offers special needs screenings on select Saturdays at 11AM. First run movies are shown with the lights up and the volume down. Children are free to move around, talk or even dance in the aisles during the movies. Coming up are: Inside Out June 27 and Minions July 18. For info, visit www.studiomoviegrill.com.

Sky Zone Trampoline Park (Elmhurst) welcomes children and adults with special needs and their siblings, families, and friends to jump on the first Monday of every month from 5-7PM. During these sensory-friendly nights they turn down the music and reduce distractions for jumpers. For more info visit,  www.skyzone.com/elmhurst.

Families can get all the latest news, events and opportunities two ways. Sign up to receive the WDSRA enews at www.wdsra.com to have these opportunities delivered right to your in box. We at WDSRA value your time and attention, so we never bombard you with spam or an excessive number of emails.
