Find the most recent greeting  posted at the top of this selection as the page is updated throughout the month.

Occasionally, Greetings to PN also are linked to other online PN stories that are saved in our archive. Many greetings, edited for space for the printed publication, will appear in the next issue.

Thank you for keeping greetings as brief as possible. And thanks for sending your thoughts about this community with your signature. We welcome them!

To PN Columnist Barbara Blomquist: After reading your recent article about your pregnant daughter’s experience on the trains, I can recall when the train staff, mostly male, would help the ladies off the platforms at the train stops. Of course, that was before all this political correctness set in. I am sure I would have done what you suggested and given up my seat in said circumstance. While there have been good things about women’s liberation for sure, I often feel it is a shame that some of these niceties had to become the sacrificial lambs of an over-zealous society in so many ways.

And, while we are on the topic of political correctness, may I recommend a book I wrote which deals with some of the affects in the modern workplace. Inspired by a real-life situation, JUDAS TIMES SEVEN, published by AuthorHouse, is a story of greed, betrayal and jealousy in the modern workplace where office politics and political correctness trump reason; where petty jealousies can and often do lead to real-world consequences. Hope you’ll check it out. Peace.   —Brian Beecher

To PN Facebook:  I got mine (West Suburban Irish commemorative scarf) out of my closet this morning… —Paula Howland Cree

Editor’s Note: West Suburban Irish commemorative scarves are now on sale around town for $5.  All proceeds benefit St. Baldrick’s and help funding the St. Patrick’s Parade that begins at 10AM on Sat. March 14.

To PN:  Just wanted to say a quick “thank you” for all the great information you provide about the upcoming municipal election. It’s really helpful as a reference and it’s easy to read. Sue Omanson

To PN: You are very passionate about this (Consolidated Election on April 7, 2015) and I applaud you. I just wish that the general population will get off their seat and get educated. The clock is clicking and not much time is left. —Dave Szablewski

To PN: Great reading in Acapulco… Naperville! We took this (photo) for you! —Sue Gensler

Check out the PN Election & Voter’s Guide with Q&A, accessible from the homepage of this website. Though PN does not endorse, endorsements are beginning by daily media & legislative groups. Do you know all the candidates?

To PN: Just a reminder that Lent has started. You know what that means, right? Friday night Fish Fries at the “V” … Belgios Catering is doing an excellent job of having a varied menu as well as preparing the food. … See you Friday nights during Lent at the VFW.  (Also) … Not all Americans will serve in the military, but as a citizen of this great country it is your duty and responsibility to be an informed voter and vote in all elections both local and national. We have an election coming up in Naperville to elect a new Mayor and the entire City Council. We have four mayoral candidates and 19 candidates running for the City Council seats. Fortunately, you have a great source of information about all the candidates on the Positively Naperville website. Go to it, read about the candidates and make an informed decision when you vote. —Mike Barbour

To PN: Voices of Hope 2015 has had two rehearsals now and they are wonderful!  It seems that even children like it — one stayed up in the balcony for rehearsal (because both parents are in the group) and came up to me after and asked if there was enough music for him to have a set because he was learning the songs up there, but wanted to see the words to be sure he was getting them right.  Maybe there is a Hope for Young Voices somewhere in the wings of future years?

Again, many thanks for the support you have given to this project and all the others.  It means the world to us! —Bonnie Klee Roberts, Conductor, The Naperville Men’s Glee Club

To PN & Friends: We are thankful that our friends come from different backgrounds, faiths and communities.  We are blessed to have you and the support of such a diverse group.  As an organization founded by Catholic Sisters, the heart of our mission, vision and values stems from the religious values of these Sisters. These values are also shared by many spiritual traditions:  to give love to our brothers and sisters, to help the sick and the poor, and to share our blessings.  Today, Catholics are entering the Lenten Season, a time of prayer, reflection and personal growth in faith hope and love. If you do not practice Lent, please keep us in your thoughts this special time of year.

Thanks and blessings. —Marybeth Andrews, Upendo Village, Kenya, www.upendovillage.org

To PN: We (Georges, Ekeys, Kearneys & Lundeens) are in Lafayette, Louisiana, for a Mardi Gras Road Scholar Tour. I forgot my copy of PN so we’ve been keeping up electronically!!
