Naperville’s Pulse in Springfield – A new beginning for the 41st District

I recently was bestowed an incredible honor by the people of the 41st House District. On Wednesday, January 15, 2015, I officially was sworn in as a new member of the 99th Illinois General Assembly at the traditional inaugural ceremony that was held at the University of Illinois Springfield campus.

For starters, I’d like to thank my predecessor, retired Rep. Darlene Senger. Senger’s commitment and service to our community continues as a foothold for me as I head down to Springfield to work alongside my new colleagues. Thank you again for everything you have done, Representative Senger. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors!

As a former Councilman in the City of Naperville, I am not new to the legislative practice and I plan to champion many of the same fiscal concepts in Springfield that proved to be quite successful during my service on the Naperville City Council.

I’m excited and very thankful to join the Illinois House of Representatives, but I’d like to reflect on my service as a councilman under the leadership of Mayor George Pradel. There are not enough words to express my gratitude for the Mayor and his selfless commitment to the Naperville community. Thank you, Mayor Pradel!

As a newly elected member in the 99th Illinois General Assembly, I’m anxious to get started in Springfield to provide solutions that can turn our state around. We’re going to be faced with some of the most challenging issues that continue to cripple Illinois, but I am optimistic and will work with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle.

The new representative district office will be located in the downtown section of Naperville at 55 S. Main St., Suite 383, adjacent from the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Maureen Juhas, is the newest addition to the team as my district office manager. Maureen will assist in the day-to-day district operations and also will assist all residents with state and local issues.

All residents who would like to express their opinions or concerns on policy are encouraged to contact me via email at Wehrli@ilhousegop.org or contact Maureen in the district office at (630) 696-4160.
