The Y – Transform Yourself – Impact Your Community

-

bartlesWith the beginning of each year, we get the opportunity to start fresh and set our sights on more—more focus on our health, more time with our families, more chances to learn and more support for our neighbors. Setting New Year’s resolutions is easy, but seeing them through can be challenging. At the Y, you’ll find the resources, guidance and encouragement you need to achieve your personal goals and turn them into positive habits for a happier, more balanced life.

Here are a few ways the Y can help you achieve more this year:

Improve your health.

Whether your goal is to run a 5K or reduce your risk of developing a chronic disease, Y resources like group fitness classes and the YMCA’s Y MaxTraining System can provide the support you need. Not only will you be healthier, but you’ll also develop confidence and a sense of pride as you take control of your health and realize just how much you’re capable of accomplishing.

Make family time a priority.

Finding time to connect as a family isn’t always easy, but family focused Y programs like Y Guides and Princesses and Family Night create opportunities for families to learn, grow and thrive together. The Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility create a nurturing environment where adults and kids alike can play and enjoy time with each other.

Join your Naperville YMCAs this month for a FREE Fitness and Program Fair.

The Fry Y will host activities on Fri., Jan. 23, while the Kroehler Y will host on Sat., Jan. 24. These events are loaded with fun family activities sure to get your heart pumping. For more details go to www.napervilleymcas.org.

Develop a new skill or interest.

Learning is a lifelong endeavor that supports well-being at any age. At the Y, you can improve your athletic skills, stretch out with yoga or refine your water skills with swimming lessons. As you discover new passions at the Y, you’ll also make connections with others who share your interests.

Support your neighbors.

No matter your skills, resources or schedule, at the Y you can find a way to give back and support your neighbors. At the Y, you can volunteer to lend a hand and strengthen your community in a variety of ways. Along the way, you’re likely to develop new friendships and learn more about your neighbors and yourself.
