At the Y, we strengthen community by nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the nation’s health and well-being, and giving back and providing support to our neighbors. At more than 2,700 YMCAs serving 10,000 communities across the U.S., the Y’s high-quality programs and welcoming staff and volunteers help people of every age, income and background connect with their local community and grow in spirit, mind and body.
This December, the Naperville YMCAs will be doing our part to connect individuals and families when we host several activities and events to support building strong kids and families and giving back to support our community.
December begins with the 10th Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast on Friday, Dec. 5. This inspirational program helps kick off the holiday season for more than 400 community members.
Dinner with Santa also takes place on the evening of Dec. 5 at the Kroehler Family YMCA. Parents can treat their children to a special evening with the big man in red. This evening includes dinner, a special reading of “Twas the Night Before
Christmas” by the guest of honor and time for individual visits and pictures with Santa for each child.
Parents Night Out takes place on Dec. 12 at the Kroehler and Fry YMCAs. This is a great program for parents to enjoy a relaxing night out (Christmas Shopping?) while their kids are having a great time at the Y. Program runs from 6PM to 9PM.
The fun continues the evening of Dec. 19 when the Fry YMCA hosts its annual Winter Wonderland Party. Families come together and celebrate the holiday season with special holiday activities in a winter wonderland.
Finally, our Community Christmas Luncheon takes place on Christmas Day at the Naperville Marriott. This event sponsored by the Y and the Naperville Park District provides a holiday dinner and activities to more than 200 seniors who have no family locally to share Christmas Day. This year the luncheon also will include selected families in need as well.
